New Middle School Basketball Coach

SCS would like to welcome Alex Wesley to the Cougar Family. Prior to joining Somerset Christian, he served as the Head Coach at Southern Middle School Boys Basketball Program for four seasons and a

varsity assistant for two seasons at Southwestern High School.


Wesley served as Head Coach at Adair County High School and Middle School Girls Basketball Programs for three seasons where he lead Adair County to the Kentucky 2A Girls High School Basketball State


Championship Tournament for the first time in school history.

He also served as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach with Lindsey Wilson College. In his seven years with Lindsey Wilson, he helped the Blue Raiders achieve seven straight winning seasons, Two Mid-South Conference Semifinals, Two Mid-South Conference Quarterfinals. During his time with LWC, he helped coach Three NAIA All-Americans Honorable Mention, One Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the year, One Mid-South Conference Freshmen of the year, Six All Mid-South Conference Players and Fifteen Academic All Mid-South Conference Players.

Prior to joining Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders, Wesley served as a 7TH Grade Boys Coach, Middle School Boys Head Coach, Freshmen Boys Coach, and Boys Assistant Varsity High School Coach at Casey County.

Other programs he has worked with include Campbellsville University, AAU Basketball with Boys and Girls basketball since 2008, many summer basketball camps and coaching clinics including Oak Hill Academy private Baptist Boarding High School from Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, and High Potential Blue Chip Exposure Basketball Camp.


In 1990 he graduated from Pulaski County High School, and attended Eastern Kentucky University and Kentucky Technical Community College System.

He is married to Kristy Wesley, and has four children, Caleb, Noah, Allee and Lilly. Coach Wesley, retired from Kentucky State police in 2018 as a detective and now is employed with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy.
