Special Recognition: Jacob Anderson, Gabe Baker, Ethan Brainard named Rogers Explorers! Somerset Christian School is pleased to announce that these three students were chosen this year to be representatives from Pulaski County. Congratulations students on your hard work and dedication to receive this honor!

The Rogers Explorers program is an intensive program focused on cultivating skills in leadership, technology, math, science, and community service. It is developed, coordinated, and supervised by The Center for Rural Development in partnership with University of the Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson College, Eastern Kentucky University, Morehead State University, Asbury University, University of Pikeville, and Union College. During the three day event, explorers are able to actively participate in practical college courses, fine-tune leadership skills, and develop a network of friends and resources throughout our region.

Students from The Center’s 45-county service area may apply during their eighth-grade year if they have a 3.0 GPA, involved with extracurricular activities, community service, recommendations from the community, and an essay about STEM in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
